Rusty E. Mick

Rusty E. Mick Sr., 59, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on March 21, 2016 at his Chandlersville residence.

Rusty was born in Zanesville on July 14, 1956, he was raised by his grandparents Milton and Mildren Harlan.  He retired from the US Postal Service where he worked as a rural postage carrier for 23 years.  He was a life time member of the DAV and he was very active in AA having just celebrated being sober for 14 years.  He served his country in the US Army as a field artillery specialist.

Rusty is survived by his daughter Angela Mick of Roseville; his grandchildren Coty, Christopher, T.J., Anna, Cynthia, Chase and Deanna; two great-grandchildren Brayden and Chelsea; his mother Donna (Albert) Hartman; a step-son Michael Husley and step-daughter Sandy Husey both of New Orleans; his sister Dannette (Mike) Trimble of Philo; his sister in law Jeanette Hilterbrand of Chandlersville and his loving and supportive AA family.

Rusty is preceded in death by his wife Karen Sue Mick who passed away on December 2, 2015; his son Rusty Mick Jr., his father Marlin E. Mick. and his two brothers Larry Hilterbrand and Monty Harlan and a very special friend Jim Coutts.

Visitations will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 11 am Thursday with Pastor Chuck McRobie officiating.  He will be laid to rest beside his wife in the Chandlersville Cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW Post #1058 and the US Army color guard.
