Rosalind “Roz” Ann Mitchell February 11, 1958 – May 25, 2025
Rosalind “Roz” Ann Mitchell, 67, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Genesis Hospice on Sunday, May 25, 2025. Born on February 11, 1958, in Zanesville, she was the beloved daughter of Mary E. (Tucker) Mitchell and the late James L. Mitchell.
Roz dedicated her life to caring for others with compassion and grace. She lovingly provided care for her grandmother Dorothy Tucker, her parents, and was a devoted sister and friend. Her kindness and creativity left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She graduated from Ashland University with a degree in Speech Pathology. Roz also worked for many years at the Muskingum County Conference & Welcome Center before retiring. She was known by many in the community for her beautiful creations through Mitchell’s Woodcrafts, where her skill in design and painting brought warmth and charm to every piece she touched.
Roz had a deep love for the arts. She was passionate about photography and music, and generously gave her time by knitting scarves and hats for those served by the Salvation Army. Her giving spirit and gentle heart were evident in every aspect of her life.
A lifelong animal lover, Roz shared a special bond with her dog, Jax, who was always by her side. In her memory, she asked that donations be made in support of the K-9 Unit to the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office, 1840 East Pike, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 note the K-9 unit in the memo line.
Roz is survived by her sister, Dianna L. (Mitchell) LeVeck, her brother-in-law Andrew H. LeVeck, and many dear friends who will remember her warmth, generosity, and talent.
In keeping with her wishes, a private service will take place and she will be laid to rest in the Duncan Falls Cemetery and arrangements are being handled by Farus Funeral Home.
