Roger L. Devore

Roger L. DeVore, 89 of Byesville, passed away peacefully at the Altercare Summit Acres on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, with his loving family by his side.

Roger was born on December 14, 1934, in Cambridge. He is the son of the late Edwin R. and Garnet (Huff) DeVore. Roger retired from LDM Factory as a painter in Byesville. Roger was an avid outdoorsman. After retirement, he could always be found hunting, fishing, running beagle dogs, working his stand at the flea markets, tinkering in his garage where he would make knives, and most especially he loved to spend time with his family and his little dog Daisy.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of thirty-three years, Janet S. (White) DeVore, whom he married on November 15, 1991; his daughters, Kim (Greg) Eibel, Kris (Frank) Simon, and Kathy (Rick) Haught; his six grandchildren, Amanda (Donnie) Kerns, Aaron (Alexis) Eibel, Ashton (Justice) May, Olivia (Ben Larson) Simon, Justin (Kaci) Haught, and Josh (Morgan) Haught; his 7 great-grandchildren and one on the way; his two brothers, Gary (Mary) DeVore and Richard DeVore; his sisters, Karen (Jim) Ferguson, Nolie Burton, and Donnie Hulboy; his sisters-in-law, Nancy DeVore, Debbie DeVore, Nancy DeVore, and Julie (David) Wylie; his brother-in-law, Jim Starr; his several nieces and nephews, including one special nephew, Matthew Cobb; as well as many friends.

In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his siblings, Emma Jo Webb, Monna Beynon, Arlene Starr, Pete DeVore, Jim DeVore, and Robert DeVore; his parents-in-law, Vernon and Beulah White; his brother-in-law, Dusty Hulboy; and a special niece, Stephanie Cobb.

In keeping with Roger’s wishes, a caring cremation will take place. The Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is caring for the DeVore family.
