Roger Dale Blackstone

Roger D. Blackstone, 64 of Philo, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2022, after a long battle with cancer, and while under the care of Genesis Hospice.

Roger was born in Zanesville on March 9, 1957. He is the son of the late James Blackstone and Doris (Dillion) Smith. Roger worked in construction, was a welder, and a jack of all trades. He especially loved his dogs, his three German Shepherds, Ace, Darcy, and Hellion; and his Golden Retriever, Cupcake.

Roger is survived by his wife, Tammy Blackstone, who he married on September 4, 2015; his son, Michael Blackstone of Florida; his brother, Gary Blackstone of Zanesville; his sisters, Beverly (Ernie) Schatzel of Bolivar, Brenda (Jeffrey) Beardsley of Duncan Falls, Lori Adams of Zanesville, and Angie (Mike) Gill of St. Louisville; and his numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his niece, Caley M. Dawson.

Visitations will be from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls.  A private family graveside service will be held, and Roger will be laid to rest in Duncan Falls Cemetery.
