Robert “Bob” L. Steed, age 87, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2026. He was born on September 21, 1938 to the late Ralph and Edna (Kay) Steed.

Bob proudly served his country as a member of the US Army, and was an active member of the American Legion Post 29 and the VFW Post 1058. He worked in construction for Torzilo for 17 years in Richfield, OH.

He met the love of his life in 1975, Karla (Ray) Steed and dated for many happy years before finally deciding to marry in 2008.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Karla; brothers-in-law, Keith Harron, Paul Ray, and Karl Ray; sisters-in-law, Crystal Bollinger, Carolyn Bell, and Marilyn Starkey; nephews, Bryan and Rick Harmon; nieces, Pam Moore; and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Harrison and Donna Harron; and sister-in-law, Sherry West.

Family will greet friends from 5-7pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 and again from 10am-11am on Thursday July 9, 2026 at Farus Funeral Home in Duncan Falls. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday at the funeral home. Bob will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park where he will receive military honors.
