Robert Dale Samson

July 23, 1933 — December 24, 2018

On December 24, 2018, Robert Dale Samson, 85, of Duncan Falls, passed away at his home surrounded by his family after a long illness.  He was born on July 23, 1933 to the late Albert and Doris Samson.

Robert was a veteran of the United States Army and truly loved his country.  Robert retired from Owens Brockway after 37 years.  After retirement he started his painting business, Bob Samson’s Painting.

He was a member of Cornerstone Full Gospel Church.  He was an avid fisherman and loved the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He was survived by his loving wife and best friend Peggy (Scott) Samson of 45 years. He was a devoted husband, father, & grandfather and a friend to many.

In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his daughter Doty Samson. Edward (Melissa) Bauer II, Brenda (Jay) White. Grandchildren: Phillip Ivey, Chris Ivey, Adam Samson, Dallas (Neha) White, Danielle (Jake) Hindel, Samuel Bauer, and Grant Bauer and several great grandchildren. Also leaving behind is loving sister Lovella Rutter.

Preceded in death was his children & grandchildren Bobby Dale Samson (son), Polly Ann Samson (daughter), Santana Ivey and Sheena Lashley (granddaughters). Two brothers Vail (Ruth) Samson and Karl (Phillis) Samson.

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home at 11 am

on Friday with Pastors Stephen Harrop & Bill Meige officiating and burial to follow at the Duncan Falls Cemetery with full military honors provided by George Selsam Post #1058, American Legion Post #29 and the United States Army Color Guard.
