Robert C. Philip Iii

Robert C. Philip III, 78 of Philo, passed away 9:10 pm, Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born April 23, 1935 in Zanesville the son of the late Robert C. II and Betrice Marie (Hagen) Philip. He retired in 1986 from Ameritech where he worked as an engineer. He is a member of the FOE #302, America Legion Post #29, a past commander of VFW Post #1058, A past president of the Telephone Pioneers of Ohio Valley #80, Anchor Lodge #283, he was a 32 degree mason and a member of the Scottish Rite of Cambridge. Robert is survived by his wife Sondra J. Philip whom he married October 27, 1956, his son Kevin (Debbie) Philip of Zanesville, his sisters Christine (Donald) Cronin, Eleanor (Donald) Fulkerson and Heather Philip; his four grandchildren Matthew (Carrie) Philip, Christopher (Anna) Philip, Jaime Philip and Jennifer Philip and his great-grandchildren Aaron, Andrew, Adam, and Ky-Mani Philip. A brother-in-law Carlos (Buck) and Bev Hickman of Dresden. A sister-in-law Elaine Hickman of Texas and a daughter-in-law Diane Philip of Toledo. Serveral neices and nephews and many good friends. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by step-mother Norma Rockwell Philip, his son Robert C. Philip IV, a brother-in-law Gary F. Hickman and an infant sister Susan Philip. Visitations will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 1 pm Tuesday with Joy French officiating. He will be laid to rest in Duncan Falls Cemetery with full military services provided by post 1058 VFW. Anchor lodge will hold masonic services Monday night at 8:00pm.
