Robert H. Hardy

Robert H. Hardy, 90, of Chandlersville, went home to be with his beloved wife on April 22, 2025, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.

Born in Zanesville on December 16, 1934, Robert was the son of the late Clarence and Hazel Hardy. A lifelong resident of the area, Robert dedicated his life to dairy farming. He loved the outdoors and spent much of his time deer hunting and working on old tractors. He was a man who found joy in simple pleasures and hard work. Robert attended the Chandlersville Church of Christ in New Concord.

He is survived by his son, Jay (Roxanne) Hardy; his grandchildren, Jennifer Hardy, Bryan Hardy, Stephanie (David) Burr, Brittany Bashart, and Dylan Hardy; his great-grandchildren, Michael Gardner, Cody Gardner, Kaden Gardner, and Amelia Bashart; and his sister, Helen Mason.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edith M. Hardy, whom he married on August 14, 1952. Edith passed away on March 2, 2022. He was also preceded in death by his son, Terry Hardy, who passed on December 14, 2020; his daughter-in-law, Brandy; and his brother, Lawrence Hardy.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord, located at 63 W. Main Street, New Concord, Ohio 43762. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Terry Townsend officiating. Robert will be laid to rest beside his wife in Salt Creek Cemetery.
