Robert D. Fuller Sr, 91 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Thursday, December 15, 2016 at his residence while under the care of Genesis Hospice.

Robert was born in Zanesville on June 26, 1925.   He is the son of the late George Howard and Norma Salome (Butler) Fuller.  He began building the Fullers Fairways Golf Course in 1968 and along with his wife June, they owned and operated it since its opening in 1972.  Previous to running the golf course he worked for the Ohio Ferro Alloy in Philo, an area farmer, for Burnham and for the Franklin Local School District as a Janitor and Bus Driver.  He was an avid golfer, bowler and nature lover, bee keeper and enjoyed watching his purple Martins from his back porch swing.  He would often be found working in his vegetable garden.  He was a member of the Carlwick Grange and he served his country in the US Army during WWII.

Robert is survived by his wife of 68 years, June (Allen) Fuller, whom he married, November 9, 1947; his daughter Diane (Danny) Jewell and his son Robert (Crystal) Fuller Jr both of Zanesville; his four grandchildren Lori, Jeremy, Cassie and David; his great-grandchildren Collin, Clayton, Jordan, Karson, Hanna, Lillyanne and Blaine; his sister Evelyn Trout of Circleville and his sister-in-law Wilma Fuller of Duncan Falls.

Robert is preceded in death by his brother Eugene Fuller and his brother-in-law Vernon Trout.

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday with Pastor Gary Fitzgerald and Tim Smith officiating.  HE will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville with full Military Honors provided by the US Army Color Guard, George Selsam Post 1058 and the American Legion Post 29.
