Robert Wayne Alvey

Robert Wayne Alvey, 69 of Chandlersville, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 28, 2021.

Wayne was born in Morganfield, KY on July 11, 1951.  He is the son of the late Alfred and Gertrude (Wright) Alvey.  In the 1970’s he worked for J.L. Coats Drilling and Mid Atlantic Drilling, later he helped to build subdivisions with his longtime partner Carol Goff.  He worked as a heavy equipment operator installing everything from septic tanks to farm ponds, but his true passion was working the family farm and taking care of his animals.  He loved working with the horses, goats, dogs and cats.

Wayne is survived by his partner of 31 years, Carol Goff; his children, Bobby Alvey, Mary Jane Alvey, Derrick (Kerrie) Floyd, Cheri Trudeau, Jason (Kim) Goff and Justin (Rachel) Goff; his grandchildren, Angel Alvey, Willow Alvey, Zoey Alvey, Hayden Alvey-Knapp, Addyson (Casey) Amar, Hanley Floyd, Austin Trudeau, Jenna Trudeau, Kayla Trudeau, Justus Goff, McCoy Goff, Jade Goff, Jagger Goff, and Paige Adkins; one great granddaughter, Mila Jane Amar; his siblings, Eugene Alvey, Nancy (Thomas) Smith, Karen (Ricky) Alvey Martin; and his special friends, Angie Goff and her son, Carson; Jason Power, Justin Bishop, Helen Coats, Patricia Jackson.

In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his brother, Alfred Alvey Jr., who passed away in Vietnam; a special niece, Consuela Conner; and his special friend, Tim Bash.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in Wayne’s name to The Muskingum County Animal Shelter Society, 1430 Newark Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.

Visitations will be 11 to 3 pm on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord, 63 West Main Street, New Concord.  Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating.  He will be laid to rest on his Chandlersville Farm.
