Rita Mae Warren

Rita Mae Schenk Warren of Cambridge, Ohio. Passed away peacefully in her home in the morning hours of Wednesday, December 12, 2018; she was 73 years old. She was born January 14, 1945 in Marion County of Indianapolis to Edward and Helen (Murphy) Schenk.

Rita is survived by her five children: Helee R. Warren Adkins (Rick), Danville, IN; Louis S. Warren, Seattle, WA; Joseph E. Warren (Carly), Verona, PA; Phillip M. Warren (Julia), Virginia Beach, VA; and Evelyn M. Warren (Ryan), New Concord, OH. In addition she is survived by her 11 grandchildren: Michaela, Carter, Michenna, Madeline, Elizabeth, Emerson, Sarah, Riley, McKinsey, Phillip Jr., and Hannah. Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Schenk, Helen Murphy Schenk; two siblings Michael “Mike” Schenk, Mary “Sis” Schenk Davis, and husband Louis Warren Sr. Rita went to school at St. Agnes High School in Indianapolis, graduating in the class of 1963, and was a lifelong devoted Catholic. Rita lived a rich life as a beautiful young woman before marrying and becoming a dedicated mother to her children. She enjoyed a lifetime of admirable adventures with many wonderful stories to tell such as traveling to Ireland as a gift to her mother in 1975, attending The Beatles concert at the Indiana State Fair before they were famous, and riding in an elevator with Robert Kennedy. These just name a few of the lifetime of memories she had with her. As a mother, Rita provided the individual encouragement, guidance, and unconditional love that each of her children needed to be the very best they could be, and extended that love to her grandchildren as their loving Grammy/Gramma. For those who knew her best, Rita was the best of friends, always there to listen, laugh, and truly engage in any conversations she shared with you. She was adored and will be greatly missed. A memorial service was held with her children in attendance, followed with a celebration of life with close friends and her immediate family, just as Rita had wished.
