Richard James “Jim” “Snowball” Taylor, 81 of Cannelville, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Genesis Hospice.

Richard was born in Cannelville on May 17, 1939.  He is the son of the late Alvin C and Mildred Jane (Terrill) Taylor.  He retired after 36 years with Rockwell International, where he worked as a lathe operator.  He was a member of the Immanuel Church in downtown Zanesville, a member of Roseville American Legion Post #71 and he served his country as an Army Medic during the  Vietnam era, in the US Army serving from 1963 to 1969.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting.  He loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren.  He was a boy scout leader for troop #119 and a baseball and softball coach.

Richard is survived by his wife of 22 years, who he has been with for over 36 years, Pamela S. Taylor, whom he married June 10, 1998; his children, Stephanie J. Tilton, Kevin  James (Terrie K. Diehl) Taylor and Charles James (April D. Easter) Erwin; his grandchildren, Cameron M. Harris, Courtney M. Spangler, Kody James (Jenny) Taylor, Zachary R. Taylor, Corey S. Taylor, Brandon H. Taylor, Landon M. Erwin, Blake R. McPeck, and Ellie M. Erwin; his great grandchildren, Autumn, Kallie, Sophia,  Sadie, and Kaden; his sisters, Mary Krouskoupf and Mona (Gene) Boetcher and his brothers, Alvin (Marcia) Taylor and Marvin (Alberta) Taylor: and his three sisters-in-law, Martha (Charles) Bickford, Judith (Joe) McCabe and Tina (Kenneth) Boyd; his aunt, Romona Grant; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by an infant sister, Shirley Taylor; his brothers-in-law, Herman Krouskoupf and Richard Erwin; and his aunt, Reba Lemity.

Visitations will be 11 to 1 pm on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls.  Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday.  Pastor Donnie Rowland will officiate the service.  He will be laid to rest in Stovertown Lutheran Church Cemetery with full military honors provided by George Selsam Post #1058 and the American Legion Post #29.
