Richard P. Hydell

Richard P. Hydell, 72 of New Concord, passed away unexpectedly on February 28, 2021 at Genesis Hospital Emergency Room.

Rick was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on October 12, 1948.  He is the son of the late Paul and Jane (Galligher) Hydell.  He attended Oberlin College where he received his undergraduate degree, he also attended M.I.T. where he received a Doctorate in Economics.  He retired in 2019 from Muskingum University where he was a professor of Economics for several years.

Rick is survived by his close friends, Samantha Webb, Nancy Phillis and Morgan Adams; his niece and nephews, Zachary, Isaiah, Isla, and Luca and a friend, Shannon Williams.

Rick is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Hydell and grandparents, Helen and Harold Russell.

Visitations will be 11 to 1 pm on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord.  Funeral services will be held immediately following visitations at 1 pm with Pastor Tim Pollock of the Bloomfield United Presbyterian Church officiating.
