Richard E. Bowers

Richard E. Bowers, 63, of Philo passed away at his home on Monday, Sept 16, 2013 at app 10:30 pm. Richard was born June 18, 1950 in Zanesville to the late Everett Bowers and Judy Hoskey Bowers of Cannelsville. Richard is survived by the love of his life, his wife Linda Hammer Bowers , whom he loved and cared for. He married Linda on Nov 25, 1972 a marriage of 42 years. He was a loving father to a son Everett (Sherry) Bowers of Cannelville, and a daughter Marsha (Shawn) Mumaw of Blue Rock. He as a loving grandpa to his five grandchildren and was there to help anyone in need and helped in any way he could. He leaves behind his two brothers Everett (Tammy) Bowers of Cannelville, David Bowers of Roseville and his sister Shirley (Jerry) Starkey of Zanesville. He has two uncles Lewis and Herman Bowers of Zanesville. Rich was a Member of the American Legion, VFW, member of the Local 530 for 41 years. Rich liked to hunt, farm, and be with his family and grandchildren and he served his country during the Vietnam War. Rich was preceded in death by his Father and Grandparents and an Aunt. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Thursday, Sept. 19th at Farus Funeral Home in Duncan Falls. Funeral services will be 1 pm of Friday, Sept 20th with the Pastor Stephen Harrop officiating.
