Raymond "Ray" E. Wickham

Raymond “Ray” E. Wickham, 70 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 7, 2025, at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark.

Ray was born on December 9, 1954.  He is the son of the late Dorothy (Stewart) Norris and David J. Wickham. Ray worked at Lear Corporation for thirty-five years, as well as Hurst Painting for thirteen years.

Ray had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether he was riding Razors, gardening, mushroom hunting, or fishing, he found joy in being outside. He also loved helping out with the Queen of Hearts at Lucky’s. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends, treasuring every moment with them.

Ray is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn S. (Burtnett) Wickham, whom he married on May 1, 2001 but were together for 36 years; his sons, Mike (Karen) Wickham and Raymond (Shawna) Gossett; his daughter, Brandi (Chad) Butler; his eight grandchildren, Tyler (Katie) Wickham, Ethan Wickham, Delaney Wickham, Tyler Butler, Jayden Butler, Ma-Riley Butler, Leigha Gossett, and Eli Gossett; his great-grandchildren, Zoe and Mason; his sister, Vickie Nichols; a special nephew, Brian (Billie) Nichols, and friend, Eddie Yarger, who he loved as if they were his own sons; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his brother, James Wickham.

Visitations will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM following visitations. Pastor Gerry Wade will officiate the service. Ray will be laid to rest in Chandlersville Cemetery.

The family will hold a gathering of friends following Ray’s funeral service at the Duncan Falls Masonic Lodge, 238 Mound Road, Duncan Falls, Ohio, 43734. Please bring a covered dish.
