Ralph Lewis Harsch

Ralph L. Harsch, 89 of Zanesville, went to his heavenly home on June 21, 2021, while surrounded by his loving family.

Ralph was born on January 30, 1932 in Zanesville. He is the son of the late Karl F. and Juaveta (McConnell) Harsch. Ralph retired as a service man for Columbia Gas after 32 years, and was a member of the New Hope Full Gospel Church in Zanesville. He was an accomplished saxophone player, and loved riding his bicycle and motorcycle, boating, and skiing. Ralph was an avid euchre player. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, was known for his amazing sense of humor, and his love of vacations, especially to beaches. Ralph proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War as a Medic.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Braun) Harsch, whom he married in 1989; his children, Kimberly (Danny) Mattingly, Pamela Zabel, Melissa (Matthew) Watson, and Jennifer Fusner; his grandchildren, Aaron (Melissa) Hauke, Mark (Megan) Hauke, Matthew (Ebba) Long, Travis (Angie) Miller, Hunter (Haley) Miller, Harrison Fusner, Hayden Fusner, Wyatt (Kayla) Watson, and Dalton Watson; and his great-grandchildren, Hailey Hauke, Audrey Hauke, Samantha Tubbs, Heston Miller, and Peyton Watson.

In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by his first wife of 34 years, Betty Harsch, who passed away in 1987; his daughter, Valerie Harsch; and his grandsons, Joshua Long and Trevor Miller.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Ralph’s name to Genesis Hospice, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, OH, 43701, or, to New Hope Full Gospel Church.

Visitations will be held from 4 to 7pm on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the New Hope Full Gospel Church, 3550 East Pike, Zanesville, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10am. Pastor Joe DiVincenzo will officiate the service. Ralph will be laid to rest in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery will full military honors from George Selsam VFW Post #1058, Zanesville American Legion Post #29, and the United States Army Color Guard.
