Peggy Sue (Yates) Johnson

Peggy Sue Johnson, 82 of Blue Rock, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 11, 2022, while surrounded by her loving husband and daughters.

Peggy was born in Elkhorn, West Virginia on October 8, 1939. She is the daughter of the late William M. and Mary A. (Sheets) Yates. Peggy was a homemaker, and was a mother to many more than just her five daughters. Peggy shared her love and faith with everyone she met. Peggy loved to spend time with her family, most especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 63 years and 364 days, Marvin L. Johnson, who she married on July 12, 1958; her daughters, Cindi (Dan) Gremling, Jane Stephens, Kay (Don) Morehart, Karen (Dennie) Elmore, and Lora (John) Gifford; her grandchildren, Nicholas, Jeremy, Fred, Alexis, Brittney, Ryan, Josh, Connor, Kadyn, Brandon, Danielle, Dena, Kara, Kyrsten, and Allyson; her thirty-five great-grandchildren; her siblings, Linda Justice, Butch (Shirley) Yates, Rita Graham, and Judy (Hersie) Belcher; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her only son, Marvin “Randy” Johnson, who was born on July 11, 1963; her siblings, Shirley, Wilma, Bill, Fred, and Larry.

A celebration of Peggy’s wonderful life will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at 3pm, at the Cornerstone Full Gospel Church, 4509 Salt Creek Drive, Duncan Falls, OH, 43734. Pastor Steve Harrop will officiate the service. The Farus Funeral Home is caring for the Johnson family.
