Peggy A. Marlowe McKirahan, 72 of New Concord, passed away peacefully at Genesis Hospital on Monday, October 13, 2025, with her loving family by her side.

Peggy was born on January 20, 1953, in Zanesville. She is the daughter of the late William and Erminnie (Caton) Marlowe. Peggy worked for several places throughout her life, including Columbia Gas for over twenty-five years, the Citizens Bank in Zanesville, and the East Muskingum School District as an office administrator. Peggy enjoyed caring for families and guiding them in the right direction at the school- she was a friendly face many could count on. Peggy was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing euchre.

She is survived by her step-children, whom she considered her own, Staci Heller, Gwyn (Brian) Griffiths, and Jeff (Rachel) McKirahan; her several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sisters, Amy (Jeffrey) Ater and Patty (David) Mayhew; as well as one niece and nephew, cousins, and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her husband of twenty-seven years, Harry H. “Scoop” McKirahan, who passed away on August 25, 2015.

A graveside service for Peggy will be held at 1 PM on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the New Concord Cemetery, where Peggy will be laid to rest beside Scoop. Pastor Keith Taylor will officiate the service.
