Patricia A. (Hanning) Crane, 85, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Adams Lane Nursing Home.

Patricia was born on March 28, 1941, in Blacklick, Ohio, to the late Mary K. Buck Hanning and Elmer V. Hanning.

Patricia was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose life was devoted to caring for others. She was the kind of mother who always made sure everyone was taken care of, often putting the needs of her family before her own. Her love was shown not only through her words, but through the countless things she did for the people around her. She had a caring heart and a giving spirit, and her family was always an important part of her life. The love she gave so freely will live on through the many generations of her family who were blessed to have her in their lives. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Patricia is survived by her children: Tammy (Don) Carnes, Patty (Jim) Hicks, Tina Crane, and Shanon (Stephanie) Crane; her grandchildren, Moon, Jessica (Corey), Amanda, Thomas, Darick (Stephanie), Charley, Justin, Tabitha, Christina (Jimmy), Dwayne, Colton (Tori), Brock (Alexis), Paige (C.J.), and her great-grandchildren, Austin, Oliva, Ethan, Gabby, Ally, Preston, Slade, Madison, Carter, Zeke, Tyler, Abby, Breanna, Jayden, Dalton, Maverick, Noah, Violet, Iris, Greyson, Hawkins, Isaac, Ellie, and Caden; great-great-grandchildren, Brantley, Jameson, Scarlett, Myles, and Stella; as well as several cousins and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles F. Crane Sr., whom she married on April 6, 1957, and who passed away in 2002; her daughter and son, Penny Crane and Charles Crane Jr.; her infant daughter, Kimballa Lou Crane; her grandchildren, Chad Crane, Charles Crane III, Robin Chappelear, and Nema Mayle; her only sister, Wilma Hanning Marple; and her brothers, Gerald Sampson, Ray Hanning, Tim Hanning, Francis Hanning, George Hanning, Vance Hanning, and Tom Hanning.

In keeping with Patricia's wishes, a caring cremation will take place. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Though Patricia will be greatly missed, the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories she leaves behind will remain in the hearts of her family forever.
