Ouida Karan Adams, 82 of Zanesville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 6, 2024 at The Oaks at Northpointe.
Karan was born September 2, 1941, in Gallipolis, Ohio. The daughter of the late Clarence Hoffman and Betty J. (Dwight) Bowers.
Karan owned Unique and Catchie Crafts in Dresden for eleven years. She also worked in the gift shop at Cracker Barrel, and was a volunteer at the Genesis Hospital. She was a member of the Christian Woman’s Club in Zanesville, and attended the Cornerstone Full Gospel Church in Duncan Falls. Karan loved serving the Lord. She loved everyone and life; but she was ready to see God, Jesus, and family and friends of which most have passed.
Karan loved her children; they were so special to her. Don’t grieve boys as I am in a much better place with my Lord and Savior. I will be waiting for you! See you again! Someday!
Karan’s goal in life was to be a good Christian, good wife, a good mother, plus a good friend. Please laugh at life as laughter was her life.
Karan is survived by her three wonderful sons, Eddie (Susie) Sims, Michael (Susan) Sims, and Chad (Lisa) Sims of Zanesville; her six grandchildren, Lindsay Sims, Chelsie Sims, Josh Sims, Mollie Sims, Cara Snyder, Elizabeth Sims, and Michelle Sims; her great-grandchildren, Mayleigh Martin, Maya Martin, Bryndel Simpson, Brynnen Simpson, and the newest edition due next month, Ellie Mae VanDyne; her half-sister, Beverly Gray; her special cousins that were like brother and sister to her, Virgil (Margaret) Lockhart and Susie Blatt; her aunt and uncle, Lewis (Kathleen) Bowers; her several cousins, nieces, and nephews; as well as her two kitties, Sadie and Annie.
In addition to her parents, Karan is preceded in death by her husband, Jack V. White, who passed away on August 28, 2001; her special aunt and uncle who helped raise her, Ouida (Virgil) Lockhart; her special sister/cousin, June (Elmo) Angle; as well as her half-brother, Ronnie Hoffman.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Karan’s honor to PAWS of Muskingum County at https://www.pawsofmuskingum.org/in-memoriam
A graveside funeral service will be held for Karan at Noon on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Roseville. Pastor Steve Harrop will officiate the service. Karan will be laid to rest beside her mother and step-father. The Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is caring for the Adams family.
