Olena M. (Savage) Luckett

Olena M. (Savage) Luckett, 84 of Roseville passed away peacefully on September 4, 2015 while under the care of Genesis Hospice, Morrison House.

Lena was born October 19, 1930 in Roseville, OH the daughter of the late Rolland ‘Banjo’ and Rosella (Williams) Savage.  She was a longtime employee of Nelson-McCoy and Friendship pottery.  She was a member of the Savage Family Band and continued to enjoy playing music, singing and dancing while visiting nursing homes in the area and she was inducted into the Muskingum County Country Music Hall of Fame.  She proudly served her country in the Women’s Army Corps.

Lena is survived by her children Jane (Mike) Daniels of Roseville, Ethel Duda of Delran, NJ, Robert (Rita) Norris of Zanesville, Mindy (Jamie) Wisecarver of Zanesville; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; brothers Donnie Savage of East Fultonham, James (Sandy) Savage of Crooksville; sisters Kay Smith of Roseville and Clara Ann Danison of Roseville.

In addition to her parents, Lena is preceded in death by her son-in-law James Duda; her brothers-in-law Roger Smith and Arthur Danison; sister-in-law Donna Savage; nephew Rick Danison and a great-nephew Jimmy Dickerson.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Trinity Full Gospel Food Bank.

Visitations will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on Monday, September 7, 2015 at Trinity Full Gospel Church, 535 Munson Avenue, Zanesville with a memorial service beginning at 1 pm with Pastor Terry Rowland officiating.  The family will hold private burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
