Nellie K. Engle, 81, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Genesis Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Nellie was born on February 9, 1945, in Zanesville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Walter John and Margaret V. (Fulkerson) Swartz.

She was employed by United Technologies in Zanesville until its closure and later worked for Hartstone Pottery and the Lumi-Lite Candle Company. Nellie was a proud member of the Zanesville Eagles Lodge #302 and the Zanesville Moose Lodge. She enjoyed the friendships she made throughout the years and treasured the time spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her three children, Hiram (Patricia) Engle Jr., Nancy (Jerry) Thomas, and Michael James (Angie) Engle; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hiram Engle, who passed away on September 25, 2017; her son, Timmy Engle; and her infant twin daughters, Valerie and Victoria.

Family and friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Farus Funeral Home in Duncan Falls. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m.
