Micheal “Mike or Big Poppa” E. Moore, 53 of Port Clinton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the Ohio Hospice in Wooster.

Mike was born on March 9, 1973, in Zanesville, a son of the late Larry R. and Beverly I. (Osborn) Moore.

He was a 1991 graduate of Meadowbrook High School and furthered his education in nursing at Zane State College, obtaining his master’s in healthcare.

Mike worked at the Muskingum County Home, as well as Autumn Healthcare, Area Aging in Cambridge, and CareStar. Mike’s greatest passion was tending to and caring for the ones in need.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially going on vacations across the country. He loved watching true crime television shows and listening to music.

Mike is survived by his twin sister, Tonia (Ed Canfield) Kerr; his nieces and nephews, Travis (Stephanie) Moore, Courtney (Jeremy) Kniser, Sabrina (Coleman) Lashley, James (Marissa) Kerr, Luke Kerr, Hailie Lucas, and Tanner Baker; his great nieces and nephew, Evalynn, Carolynn, Mark, and two on the way; his lifetime best friend, Traci; as well as numerous cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his siblings, Stephen Moore, Tony Moore, and Melissa “Missy” Moore.

The family would like to give a special thank-you to the staff at Ohio Hospice for their kindness towards Mike.

Visitations for Mike will be held from 11 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord. A funeral service will follow visitations at 2 PM, officiated by family friends.

A caring cremation will take place following the service, and a graveside service will be held at a later date.
