Michael “Mike” V. Kieffer, 77 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 16, 2024 at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House.
Mike was born on October 26, 1946, New Orleans, Louisiana. He is the son of the late Alcee and Emma Jean (Giles) Kieffer. Mike loved his country. He served in the United States Air Force as a steward on Air Force One. After leaving the military, Mike worked for Lockheed Martin until his retirement. He was an avid golfer, who happened to hit a double eagle. Mike was a big sports fan, however his favorite happened to be the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Mike is survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob (Lisa) Hazen; his nephew, Tony (Deeanna) Hazen; his nieces, Lori (Mike) Driscoll, Nikki Ward, Michelle (Eamon) Walsh, Rebecca (Brandon Ray) Hazen; his several great nieces and nephews; as well as his ornery friend Fonzie.
In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his wife, Martha (Hazen) Kieffer, who passed away on August 19, 2022; his nephew, Bradley Ward; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Buddy Ward; as well as his parents-in-law, Madelyne and James Thompson and Edgar Hazen.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the Duncan Falls Cemetery where Mike will be laid to rest. Pastor Lisa Jenkins will officiate the service. Full military honors will be provided by the George Selsam Post #1058 and the United States Air Force.
