Michael Joseph Smith

Michael Joseph Smith, 75 of Zanesville, went to be home with the Lord on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Interim Hospice.

Mike was born in Columbus on January 13, 1945.  He is the son of the late Joseph Carroll Smith and Ruth Alma (Berndt) Hanley.

Mike retired from Mid State Auto Brokers and previously worked for North American Aviation and National Graphics Printing Corp.

Mike is survived by his children, Jay (Nickie) Smith, Sarah (Steve) Wolfe, Michael (Kristen) Smith, Bradley (Angie) Smith and  Penny Smith; his grandchildren, Matthew, Erin, Ashlynn, Cami, Khloe, Nina,  Ellie, Katelynn, Mackenzie, Elaine, Brian, Elizabeth, Zach, Mariah, Victoria, Jessica, Sarah, Chase, Brooklyn, Josh; several great grandchildren; his ex-wife, Gail Smith; his God-father / uncle, Paul (Donna) Berndt; a brother, Joe Smith and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his brother, Tom Smith and his sister, Kathleen Smith.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Mike’s name to Interim Hospice of Zanesville Ohio, 2806 Bell Street, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.

A memorial gathering will be held from 6 to 7 pm on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the Farus Funeral Home, 383 Main Street, Duncan Falls.  A memorial service will be held at 7 pm.  Pastor Joe Rowland will officiate the service.
