Michael Charles Duke

Michael Charles Duke, 78 of Cambridge, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2021, while surrounded by his loving family at his daughters home and under the care of Hospice of Guernsey County.

Michael was born on September 27, 1942 in Pleasant City, Ohio.  He is the son of the late Andrew Joseph and Susan (Harnyak) Duke.  He was a member of the St. Benedict Catholic Church of Cambridge. He worked as an oiler for Bellaire Stone Quarry and for Sidwell Materials and also he previously worked for Phillips Materials in Cambridge.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jean (Morse) Duke, whom he married on October 19, 1968; his daughter, Melissa (Robert) Eddy; his grandchildren, Sarah, Andrew, Emily, Darieen, and Jersey; his great-granddaughter, Paislee; his brother, Eugene (Maria) Duke; his sisters, Susan (Neil) Starr, and Judy Beaver; his brother in law, Gerald (Laura) Morse; his nieces, Tina (David) Little, and Lisa Morse; and his great-niece, Kristen (Jacob) Scott.

In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Lynn Duke; his brothers, Andrew and Thomas Duke; his sisters, Irene (Ziggy) Karpinsky, Patricia (Benedict) Chojnowski, and Marilyn (Aldo) Francescangeli; and his brother-in-law, Rick Beaver.

In keeping with his wishes, a private burial will take place in Northwood Cemetery in Cambridge.  The Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is taking care of the Duke family.
