Melvin D. Starcher, 65, of Cannelville Road, Roseville passed away at 1:22 pm on Monday, July 1, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. Melvin was born May 22, 1948 in Zanesville and his Mother and Father are Demy and Ruth Lanham Starcher. He retired from various potteries in Roseville and the Ohio Ferro Alloy in Philo. Melvin attended the Brush Creek Chapel Church and he was an avid hunter. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Rupe Starcher whom he married August 7, 1967. His sons are Clarence Starcher on Cannelville and Matthew (Jessica) Evans of Cannelville. His daughters are Peggy (Terry) Pletcher of Philo and Sherry (Everett) Bowers of Cannelville. Seven Grandchildren and two Step Grancshildren are Kayla Pletcher/Jeremy Colborn, Hope (John) McElfresh, Cheyenne Bowers, Everett Bowers, Karter Bowers, Austin Evans, Elizabeth Evans, Clayton Colborn, Chase Colborn, Kayden McElfresh, Felicity McElfresh, Lindsay Pletcher, and Ashley Pletcher, Four Great Grandchildren. Melvin's brother is Leroy Starcher of Cannelville and his sisters are Annalee (Fred) Ross of Cannelville, Thelma Moore of Cannelville, and Dorothy Middleton (Roger Bickford) of Cannelville. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, an infant brother Charles Starcher and a brother Buck Starcher and his Father Clarence Deems. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 on Wednesday at the Farus Funeral Home in Duncan Falls where the funeral will be at 1 pm on Thursday the 4th of July with the Rev Steve Harrop officiating and burial will follow in Stovertown Cemetery.
