Melanie Sue Flesher

Melanie Flesher passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 while in the care of Genesis Hospital; she was 48 years old.  She was born in Zanesville, Ohio on December 6, 1968 to Bill and Linda (Johnson) Smith.  Melanie was a healer and caregiver, working as a nurse; she treasured her family, and prized her children and grandchildren.  She loved to travel, go on vacations, sit on the beach, and riding horses.  The most important thing in her life was her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 6 years, Jim Flesher, her children, Dustin (Stacey) Hauenstein, Justin (Nikki) Hauenstein, Kierstin Hauenstein, Kelsey Flesher, and Tori Flesher.  She also leaves to cherish her memory five grandchildren including Madalyn, Macey, Mylee, Makenna, and Annabelle.  She will be deeply missed by her parents, Bill and Linda Smith, and her siblings, Bill (Debbie) Smith, Cindy Smith, and Dana (Tina) Smith.

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours for Melanie on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord from the hours of 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM.  Services will follow on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the funeral home at 11AM, burial will follow at the Bloomfield Cemetery.
