Maxine Duffey, 80, of Cambridge, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the Kobacker Hospice in Columbus, Ohio.
Born July 9, 1944, in Zanesville, Maxine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a passion for gardening, traveling, shopping, and caring for animals. Maxine spent many years as a veterinary technician for Dr. Timothy Hayes DVM at the Animal Clinic of Cambridge, where she was known for her compassion and dedication.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sandy (Walt) Chalfant and Kerri Duffey (Don); her grandchildren, Kayla Stillion, Mackenzie (Marissa) Jerles, Jake (Megan) Neff, Katelyn (Cole) Cochran, and Madison (Levi) Bickford; her three great-grandchildren, Mia Neff, Maelynn Neff, and Sutton Bickford, with two more on the way; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her dog, Blue.
Maxine was preceded in death by her beloved husband and high school sweetheart, Robert E. Duffey, whom she married on March 24, 1963. Robert passed away on August 16, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kristi D. Stillion, who passed away on January 2, 2025.
In accordance with Maxine’s wishes, a caring cremation will take place, and a private Celebration of Life will be held. The Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is honored to assist the Duffey family.
