Mary Lou West

Mary Lou West, 87 of Cumberland, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 following a 26 year battle with cancer.

Mary was born February 25, 1937, in Zanesville to the late Roy and Lucy (Howard) Tom. She was attended the Cumberland United Methodist Church and she retired in 1998 from the Cumberland Post Office where she worked as the Postal Clerk for several years.

She is survived by her four children, Patricia (Stanley) O’Karma, Sue (Brent) Chorey, Sharon (Jim) Haney, and James (Laura) West; her grandchildren, Mandy Stewart, Abbey (Dennis) Valentine, Jordan (Eric) Millward, Aaron Chorey, Ashlie (Jesse) Wilkin, Jared Haney, Clint Haney, Blake (Abby) West, Loren (Phillip) Biggs, Madison West; several great-grandchildren; her siblings, Donald (Julie) Tom, Charles (Patsy) Tom, Alice LePage, and Joan (Charlie) Klies; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-two years, Audley West; and her siblings, Dale Tom, Harold Tom, Dennis Tom, Maude Wilson, and Helen Brillhart.

In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions in Mary’s name to either, Hospice of Guernsey County, 9711 E Pike Rd, Cambridge, OH 43725; or to the Cumberland Fire Department, 444 W Main St, Cumberland, OH 43732; or to the Cumberland United Methodist Church, 441 W Main St, Cumberland, OH 43732.

Visitations will be 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the Farus Funeral Home, 383 Main Street, Duncan Falls. Funeral services will follow visitations at 4 pm.  Woody Biggs will officiate the service.
