Mary R. Swain
October 6, 1932 — April 1, 2016
Mary R. Swain, 83 of Zanesville and formerly of Oxford, MI, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016 while under the care of Genesis Hospice.
Mary was born on October 6, 1932 in Pontiac, MI the daughter of the late John B. and Juliet A. Brown. She worked for JoAnn fabrics in Naples, FL. She loved to crochet and she was an avid reader.
Mary is survived by her two sons Robert M. Swain of Lake Orion and Raymond E. Swain of Kinde, MI; her daughter Rose A. Elmy of Zanesville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a dear friend Skip and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death her husband Robert L. Swain who passed away October 22, 1988; her brothers Little Sonny Brown, Rene Brown and John Brown Jr and her two sisters Marie Thornton and Madeline Brown.
A private family service will be held and she will be laid to rest in Square Lake Cemetery in Lake Orion, MI.
The Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is entrusted with caring for the Swain family.
