Mary A. Showman

Mary Ann Showman, 76 of New Concord, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, December 31, 2023, with her loving family by her side.

Mary was born on March 15, 1947 in Newark, Ohio. She is the daughter of the late Paul E. and Clarabell (Buchanan) Glecker. She worked as a nurse’s aide, and at Longaberger. Mary loved square and round dancing with her husband.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband of fifty-three years, Larry Showman, whom she married on October 16, 1970; her children, Bill (Laura) Gartner, Michelle (Chris) Welsh, Mary Gartner, Dale (Heather) Showman, John (Ronni) Showman, and Richard (Nicole) Showman; her sixteen grandchildren; her eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul, and a sister, Barbara; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by two brothers, a brother-in-law, and a grandson.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask for donations in Mary’s honor to be made to Genesis Hospice, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, OH 43701.

Visitations for Mary will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord. Funeral services for Mary will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church, 5650 Cambridge Road, New Concord, OH 43762. Pastor Tim Pollock will officiate the service. Mary will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville.
