Mary E. Mitchell

Mary E. Mitchell, 88 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully at Genesis Hospice on Thursday, November 20, 2025, with her loving daughter by her side.

Mary was born on January 22, 1937, in Frazeysburg. She is the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy (Shrimplin) Tucker of Duncan Falls. Mary dedicated more than thirty years of service to AEP before her retirement. She poured her heart into caring for her family and friends, always placing their needs first. For many years, she partnered with loved ones in Mitchell’s Woodcrafts, creating cherished holiday décor and handmade gifts for the community. Mary was also an avid reader who found joy in both word puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, spending many peaceful hours with the hobbies she loved.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Dianna L. (Mitchell) LeVeck; her son-in-law, Andrew LeVeck; and two nieces, numerous cousins, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James L. Mitchell, who passed away on January 27, 2017; her daughter, Rosalind Mitchell, who passed away on May 25, 2025; as well as her sister, Nancy (Tucker) Cosgrave.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Genesis Hospice for the extraordinary and compassionate care given to Mary.

In keeping with her wishes, a private service will take place and she will be laid to rest in the Duncan Falls Cemetery beside James and Rosalind, and arrangements are being handled by Farus Funeral Home.
