Mary Lou Amonds

Mary Lou Amonds "John's Mom", 83 of Blue Rock and formerly of Cherokee Village, AR. passed away at home on November 28, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Mary Lou was born in Granite City, IL on July 19, 1940.  She is the daughter of Paul and Anna (Doerner) Ramsey.  She retired from the Peabody Coal Company in St. Louis, MO, where she worked as the Secretary to the Executive Vice President.  She loved to travel all over the country, quilting, and baking with her grandchildren, but most especially she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.

In addition to her parents, Mary Lou is preceded in death by her son, John Stamps Jr., and her husband, Fred Amonds Sr; and her brother, Paul Ramsey.

A private service will be held and Mary Lou will be laid to rest in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL.  The Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is caring for the Amonds family.
