Martha L. Reece, 90 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, December 29, 2025.
Martha was born on June 2, 1935, in Little Otter, West Virginia. She is the daughter of the late Anderson and Edith (McClung) Lemon. Martha devoted her life to caring for her family, always making sure they were well fed, lovingly provided for, and that her home was welcoming and immaculate. She was a master storyteller. She would tell her stories of her younger days and hold you captive. Martha also had a love for travel, especially trips to Florida, where she resided for twelve years before returning to Ohio. But most of all Martha was a fisher of men who served the Lord Jesus Christ with all of her heart! She was not ashamed of the gospel. Martha’s life story was truly a remarkable one. One of strength, courage, determination and will power! To God Be the Glory!
Martha is survived by her children, Diania Reece and Rick Reece; her granddaughters Raelynn Reece and Racheal Reece; her great-grandchildren, Kolton, Xander, and Teagen; her sister Loretta Hill; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
In addition to her parents. Martha is preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank G. Reece, whom she married on September 3, 1956, and who passed away on October 11, 1978; her grandson, Rian Reece; as well as her siblings, Doletta Smith, Betty Mollahan, Jerry Lemon, Larry Lemon, Margaret Dustman, Ray Lemon, Jarrett Lemon, and Claudia Brown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Martha’s honor to help cover funeral expenses, which can be done by mailing a check to Farus Funeral Home, P.O. Box 488, Duncan Falls, Ohio, 43734.
Visitations will be held from 4 PM to 6 PM on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. A funeral service will be held the following day at 1 PM. Pastor Steven Harrop will officiate the service. Martha will be laid to rest beside Frank in Zion Cemetery in Portersville.
