Martha J. Graves

Martha Jean Graves, 93, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Altercare of Zanesville.

Martha was born in Zanesville on May 30, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Arthur T. and Mary (Murphy) Swank. She was employed for many years at Essix Wire on Linden Avenue. Martha enjoyed dancing, tending to her flowers, and spending time watching her birds.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Catherine Ballard; her son and daughter-in-law, Marion Arthur and Janet Milstead; her grandchildren, Dewey (Shawn) Ballard, Angela (Mike) Taylor, Marion (Angie) Milstead, and Chad (Beth) Milstead; her great-grandchildren, Cody, Courtney, Coltin, Kelsi, Dalton, Sidney, Mason, Jerry, Destany, Chloe, and Remington; and her great-great-grandchildren, Coen, Aubrey, Alex, Kasten, Amelia, Waylon, and Luxten.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Graves, who passed away in 1983; her son-in-law, Dewey Ballard and her granddaughter, Shata Burwinkle.

A private graveside memorial service will be held at the Duncan Falls Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband. The Farus Funeral Home is honored to care for the Graves family.
