Martha J. Harmon

Martha J. Harmon, 77, of Chandlersville, passed away at her home on December 24, 2024.

Born in Zanesville on May 30, 1947, she was the beloved daughter of Earl and Marie (Weber) Harmon. Martha dedicated many years to the Lumi-Lite Candle Company and also delivered newspapers for the Times Recorder. A hardworking and passionate individual, she found joy in the outdoors, farming, and caring for animals. Whether putting up hay or helping  neighbors, Martha’s hands were never idle. She was a lifelong farmer who cherished Sundays spent with her nieces, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and she especially loved attending their sporting events. An avid reader, she found comfort and inspiration in books.

Martha is survived by her three nieces, Lucy (Matthew) McCallister, Melinda Harmon, and Vera Hook; her great-nephews, Tyler (Courtney Parker) Harmon, Thomas McCallister, and Josh Hook;  her great-nieces, Jessica (Zack Black) Moore and Cortney (Dylan White) Noel; and her beloved great-great-nieces and nephews, Remington, Payton, Paisleigh, John Luke, and Emerson. She is  also remembered fondly by her step-great-nephew, Gage, and her step-great-nieces, Hazel and Hailey; as well as her sister-in-law, Thaila Harmon. Martha’s loyal companion, her dog Scooby, brought her much joy in her later years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Marie Harmon; her brothers, Jim and Ed Harmon; and an infant brother.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Martha’s life during a gathering on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Farus Funeral Home in Duncan Falls.
