Marjorie Sherman

Marjorie Emma Sherman, 100, passed away peacefully in the afternoon of Sunday, August 17th while in the care of the SharonBrooke Assisted Living and Elder Care Services in Newark, Ohio. She was born September 26th, 1913 in Hubbard, Ohio to Joy and Emma Marsteller. She graduated in 1936 from Muskingum University with a degree in Biology, and in that same year married her sweetheart, Edgar Sherman. Marjorie was an amazing mother, and devoted her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed a variety of things including traveling, reading, and was particularly intrigued by history and archeology. She thoroughly enjoyed doing research, regardless of the topic. During her collegiate career she was a member of the Delta Club. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ed Sherman, and is survived by her children including her son, Leigh Sherman, daughter, Linda Sherman, and son Roger Sherman, as well as five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the First United Methodist Church, 88 N 5th St, Newark, OH 43055, or Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd., Newark, OH 43055. A graveside service for Marjorie will be held at the New Concord Cemetery on Thursday, August 21st at 11 A.M. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate he life. Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is handling services.
