Marion E. Fisher

Marion E. Fisher, 93 of New Concord, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 while under the care of Genesis Hospice at the Morrison House.

Marion was born in Norwich, Ohio on February 19, 1923.  She is the daughter of the late Alvin C and Gertrude C. Fisher.  She graduated from New Concord High School in 1940.  She attended Bliss College in Columbus and graduated in 1943; she then went to work for Tublar Weaving.  In 1946 she moved back to New Concord and worked in Zanesville for a short time and then for Muskingum College for J. Knox Montgomery for eight years.  She also worked for several years for Zin Tate and Cultis in Zanesville.  She was an avid reader and loved working outside in her yard.  She was a member of the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church and she will be deeply missed by all of her family very much.

Marion is survived by her brother and sister-in-law William E. (Phyllis Uhl) Fisher and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister and brother-in-law Marie C. (Oral) Hanna and a brother George H. Fisher.

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours for Marion at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord on Friday, December 9, 2016 from noon to 1 pm, where funeral services will be held at 1 pm with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating.  She will be laid to rest in Bloomfield Cemetery.
