M. Pauline Read

M. Pauline Read passed away Friday, October 16th in Zanesville, while in the care of Genesis Hospice at the Morrison House.  She was born in Fairfield, Illinois to Tom and Erma Murphy on July 27th, 1934.  Pauline and her family moved to New Concord, Ohio in 1970, where she started a Beauty Shop; truly enjoying her occupation of 42 years, meeting many people and building great friendships until she retired when she became 80.  After her career in hairdressing she loved working at the Thistle and Clover Gift Shop. She was also a member of the First Christian Church of Zanesville.  Her family was her pride and joy, she cherished every moment that she had with them.

Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Joseph Read, her parents, Erma and Tom Murphy, and her brother, Leon Murphy; all of Fairfield, Illinois.  She is survived by her daughter, Robyn Lynn Kreager and her husband, Don, her son, Rick Read, and his wife, Veronica, her grandchildren, Nicholas & Jordan Kreager, and Sarah and Samantha Read, her sisters, Bernadine Keiser, of Fairfield, Illinois, Reba Lark, of Cambridge, MI, Vera Forth, of Geff, Illinois, her sister-in-law, Sadra Van Devere, of Fairfield, Illinois, and her sister by friendship, Laura Jo Berry.

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours for Pauline at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord on Monday, October 19th from 6 to 8PM.  Services will be held on Tuesday, October 20th at 10 AM sharp.  Burial will follow at the Zanesville Memorial Park.  Steve Lee, Pauline’s nephew, will officiate services.
