Luella Shook

Leona Shook, 74 of Blue Rock, Went to be with the Lord at 7:13 pm, Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family. Leona was born August 25, 1939 in Zanesville the daughter of the late Archie Carpenter and Helen Marie (Knapp) Metcalf. She worked for the Abbys General Store in Gaysport and for Howards Restaurant. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Leona is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ronald Gene Shook whom she married March 29, 1957; her children, Jeff (Paula) Shook, Pam (Dave) Peterson, Mark (Karen) Shook and Liz (Jerry) Tysinger all of Blue Rock; her grandchildren, Trisha (Kenny) Jones, Mylee (Chad) Tysinger, Jeff Shook Jr., Davy (Cassandra) Peterson, Kendra (Shane) Ashton, Marky Shook, Luke Shook, Jared Tysinger and Desiree Tysinger; her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Zander, Dayanaira, Keira, Lane, Mia and Dylan; her brothers, William (Donna) Carpenter of Zanesville; William II (Patty) Metcalf of Dresden and Johnny (Joyce) Metcalf of Crooksville and her K-9 companion, Sadie. In addition to her parents, Leona is preceded in death by her step-dad William Metcalf I and her sisters Shirley McConaha and Sue Landerman. Visitations will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 11 am Saturday with Pastor Sam Bartrug officiating.
