Laurabelle Knipe, 75, of Lakeside Drive, New Concord was called Home on November 4th, 2014 at the Good Samaritan hospital following a brief illness. She was born November 2nd, 1939 to the Late Edward and Ruth Heck in Zanesville, Ohio. She was a 62 year member of the Rix Mills Presbyterian Church, as well as the Rix Mills Presbyterians Women’s Group. She loved to go bowling, working on word search puzzles, and sending people cards.
She is preceded in Death by her parents, her brother, Edward Heck, and her beloved husband, James Knipe, whom she married on April 30th, 1960. He passed away on November 25th, 2014. She is survived by her children, Bruce (Crystal) Knipe of New Concord, Laura Lee (Tom) Unger of Zanesville, and Toby (Trina) Knipe of Adamsville. She will be sadly missed by her beloved grandchildren, Caid (Cyndi) Unger, Jacque and J.R. Knipe, and her great-granddaughter, Chloe Loran. She will be lovingly thought of by her step-grandchildren, Bethany (Dave), David, Jack, and Ian Sigler of Norfolk, VA and Molly and Steven Thompson-Inman of New Concord. She will also be missed by her sisters, Mary (William) Taylor and Louanna Yoho both of Zanesville. She held room in her heart for many of her dear friends, and a special nephew, Ralph Knipe.
Friends and family may call on Laurabelle at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord on Sunday, November 9th, from the hours of 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Services will be held at the Rix Mills Presbyterian Church on Monday, November 10th at 11am. Friends may call one hour earlier, at 10:30am, prior to service. Burial will take place at the Rich Hill Cemetery.
