Lorena Rose Carnes, age 61, of Zanesville, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, October 16, 2026 at the Morrison House. She was born on May 9, 1965 to the late Irvine and Leona (Samson) Carnes, Jr. in Zanesville, Ohio.

Lorena graduated from Philo High School in 1984 and was a long-time member of the Salvation Army Zanesville Corps. In her free time, she enjoyed crafts, dancing, bingo and watching dirt track racing with her family.

Lorena is survived by her daughters, Akili Munn, and Paige Munn; siblings, Irvine (Peggy Sims) Carnes III, Wayne (Edith) Carnes, Brenda (James) Pletcher, and Ralph (Mary) Carnes; grandchildren, Emmalynn, Ryker, Raylynn, and Parker; and special friend and neighbor, Becky Sellars. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends.
