Loran L. Morrison, 90 of Philo passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at 7 am, Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Genesis Hospital. Loran was born in April 1, 1924 in South Zanesville at his family home. He was a lifetime area farmer and an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time in the woods hunting, camping and fishing. He retired after working at the Philo High School as a custodian for 28 years. He was a member of the Duncan Falls United Methodist Church for over 50 years, a 60 year member and a past Master of the Anchor Lodge #283 F&AM, several other Masonic organizations, a member and past Patron of the Olive Branch OES #251, retired member of the Humane Society, a 60 year member of the Riverside Grange and a retired fireman having served with the Harrison Township Vol. Fire Department. Loran is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Evelyn (Knicely) Morrison whom he married April 17, 1949; his son Bruce (Mara) Morrison of Philo and his daughter Teresa (Tim) Moore of Philo; his 6 grandchildren Michale, Clarissa, Tonnya, Tiffany, Nic and Wes and his 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Loran is preceded in death by his two sisters Pauline Baird and Frances Feldmiller. Anchor Lodge #283 will hold Masonic Services at 5:30 pm, Sunday. Visitations will be 6 to 8 pm Saturday, May 3, 2014 and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Sunday at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Funeral services will be at the Funeral Home Monday at 10:30 am with Rev. Karen Osborn officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Duncan Falls Cemetery. www.farusfh.com
