Obituary

Linda S. Angles, 85 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on July 4, 2026.

She was born on January 1, 1941, in Alger, Ohio to the late Leo and Jennie (Armstrong) Hattery.

Linda married her husband, Roger L. Angles, in Lima in 1958 and then moved to Zanesville to operate the Maple Drive In Movie Theater, where she managed the concession stand. Linda enjoyed her yard, tending to her flowers and growing a garden. Lemon was her favorite, any cake, cookie, or candy.

She was an incredibly devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who always made sure everyone felt loved. Linda was wise, thoughtful, kind, selfless, and strong. She was always putting everyone before herself.

One of her family’s fondest memory is playing hands and feet as well as ones and fives, where her competitive spirit and feistiness really shined.

Linda is survived by her children, Harold (June) Angles, Sandy Sterling, and Pamela Angles; her grandchildren, Bryan Angles, Michelle (Mitch) Angles, Jenna (Jerrad) Luburgh, Kelsey (Quentin) Green, and Dakota Angles; her great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Odessa, and Mackenzie Martin, Troy and Axel Luburgh, as well as Ila and Hunter Green; her siblings, Tim, Jerry, Kevin, and Rick Hattery; her special-sister-in-laws, Linda Hattery and Annie Hattery; including her nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and countless friends.

In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her husband of thirty-nine years, Roger L. Angles, whom she married on August 27, 1958, and who passed away on July 13, 1997; as well as her siblings, Kenny Hattery, Dorleen Dearth, Tom Hattery, Rodney “Skip” Hattery, Steve Hattery, Terry Hattery, and Larry Hattery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Genesis Hospice for their kindness and care towards Linda.

In keeping with Linda’s wishes, a caring cremation will take place and her ashes will be laid to rest beside her husband at Irville Cemetery in Nashport.
