Linda Sue Pierce, age 76, of Zanesville, passed away at peacefully at Morrison House on Saturday, August 1, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 23, 1949 to the late William Frederick Ballman and Betty Jean (Frye) Ballman in Zanesville, OH.

Linda graduated from Licking Valley Highschool and married Dave M. Pierce on December 20, 1969 and together they raised two children. In 1975, the couple opened the Hideaway/Pastime bar. In 1993, they closed the Hideaway and opened The Putnam Tavern which is still in business today. Over the years, Linda and David proudly honored our veterans by hosting the Y City Southeastern Bikers for Vietnam Veterans group.

In her free time, Linda enjoyed crafting, painting, and decorating. She also loved to sew various projects for her children and grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Michelle Pierce; sister, Helen Ballman; grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Myers, David Dobbins, Tamera (Dominic Howe) Robertson, and Ashley Pierce; great grandchildren, Koda Dobbins, Bentley Dobbins, Braxton Robertson, Bailey Howe, and Madison Myers; and special friends, Paula Sharrer and Wanda Sharrer.

In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Dave; son, Ernie Pierce; and siblings, Rick Ballman, Julia Williams, Virgina Engles, and Mary Watkins.

A memorial service will be held at 6pm on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Farus Funeral Home in Duncan Falls. Family will greet friends from 4pm to 6pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Following the service everyone is invited back to the Putnam Tavern to share memories and celebrate Linda’s life.
