Linda D. Bowers

August 6, 1951 — February 2, 2016

Linda Hammer Bowers, 64 of Philo, passed away peacefully at 1:50 pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at Genesis Hospital following a short illness.

Linda was born on August 6, 1951.  She is the daughter of the late Edna Geraldine Hammer Brumage.  She was married to Richard Bowers on Nov 16, 1972, whom she missed very much after his passing. Linda was a faithful member of Cornerstone Church, and a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who enjoyed life with them.   Linda enjoyed sharing recipes with her friends and family; she also enjoyed knitting and doing crafts as well as mushroom hunting and berry picking.  Linda was known for her kindness and sweetness.  She would help anyone that needed anything.  She was known for making the best pies!  Everyone looked forward to them at any and all gatherings.  She was a great cook and friend to all.

Linda is survived by her two children Everett Glen (Sherry) Bowers of Cannelville and Marsha (Shawn) Mumaw of Blue Rock; her five grandchildren, Cheyenne, Everett Jr., Karter, Shawn JR and Dylan; her two great grandchildren, Kaiser and Blaise and  her siblings Sharon Akers, Penny (Gary) Chevalier, both of Crooksville, Turly Crain of Zanesville, Dolly Brumage (Dennis Ponchak) of McConnelsville and Linda (Truman) Brumage Haslap of Corning.

In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her husband Richard E. Bowers who passed away on September 16, 2013. Two brothers David Brumage and Scott Brumage

Calling hours for friends and family will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be held 11:30 am Friday, with Pastor Steven Harrop officiating.  She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Stovertown Lutheran Church Cemetery.
