Lester Paul Garber, age 82, of Zanesville, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love. Born on July 3, 1942, in Zanesville, Lester was the son of the late Homer W. Garber and Olive (Snyder) Garber.

Lester's professional career was marked by his commitment and skill. He worked for the Central Ohio Coal Company, where he contributed his talents to the mining industry; he was also a proud member of the United Mine Workers Union.  Lester also worked as an owner-operator over the road truck driver, and later in life he served as a driver for the Amish community, a role that allowed him to connect too many new friends.

Not only did Lester find fulfillment in his professional life, but he also discovered faith through his involvement in Norwich United Methodist Church where he was a member for many years.  Beyond his work and faith, Lester had a deep passion for farming and he devoted himself to tending his farm land.

Lester was a loving and devoted husband to his beloved wife, Connie A. (Triplitt) Garber.  Lester cherished his role as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to his children, Tammy and Pete Geyer, Tracy (Bill Ramsey) Garber, Tina and Steve Rider, and Troy and Heather Garber; his step-children, Michelle (Tracy) Mohr, Jason (Cassandra) Henning, and Chad (Carol) Hutchins; his six grandchildren,  Paul and Alicia Geyer, Megan and Aaron Montgomery, Samantha Garber, Mark and Melissa Watson, Elizabeth Watson, and Jesse (Alicia) Garber; his step-grandchildren, Ashly (Ryan) Rothenstine, Sean (Andrea) Hutchins, Travis Mohr, Austin Henning, Alex Hutchins, Matthew Hutchins, Tyler Mohr, and Aiden Henning; his five great grandchildren, Lily Wingsi Hui Geyer, Beau Montgomery, Isaac Watson, Hazel Watson, and Jay Garber; as well as his step-great grandchildren, Bella, Easton, Charlee, Jaxson, Creed, and Thalia. In addition, Lester is survived by his siblings, Eloise Gray, Jean Beach, Gary Garber, Danny Garber, Darrell Garber, Randy and Penny Garber, and Wayne Garber.

In addition to his parents, Lester is preceded in death by his first wife, Paula E. (Porter) Garber, whom he married in 1963, and who passed away in February 29, 2020; his siblings, Wanda Garber and Lane Garber; his step-son, Darrin Hutchins; his step-grandson, Justin Hutchins.

Family and friends are invited to visitations 11 AM to 1 PM on Monday, March 24, 2025 at the Farus Funeral Home, 63 West Main, New Concord. Funeral services honoring Lester's life will begin at 1 PM officiated by Pastor Chris Steele. Following the services, Lester will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in New Concord.
