Leanna C Atchison

Leanna Charlene Atchison, 92 of Zanesville formerly of Bloomfield and New Concord, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2022 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.

Leanna was born on March 9, 1930 in Kimbolton, Ohio. She is the daughter of the late George P. Cosby and Bessie (Smith) Cosby.

Leanna was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed. She was a seventy year member of the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church. She was the Executive Secretary to the President of Muskingum University and Executive Secretary of Seminole Tubular Products, as well as the secretary of Enterprise Oil.

Leanna is survived by her two sons, Robert (Susan) Atchison, and Mark Atchison; her grandchildren, Steven (Kathy), Scott (Kate), Geoffrey (Anthony), Weston (Hailey), and Devon Atchison; her great-granddaughters, Isabelle and Juliette, as well as a great-grandson to be. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Leanna is preceded in death by her loving husband John Robert Atchison, who passed away on May 17, 2005. Additionally, all of her siblings including Vernon Cosby, Robert Cosby, Mary McCormick, Ruth Widder, Kathleen Vessels, a sister lost in infancy Helen Louise, one devoted brother-in-law named Richard Atchison, as well as a devoted sister-in-law named Alice Yelverton.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 at the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
