Lawrence “Cider” Fye, 87 , of Zanesville passed away at 7:50 am on Wednesday July 22,2015, at Willow Haven Nursing Home.  Cider retired from Allied Machine in Zanesville as a Machanist. He was born Aug 31, 1927 in Stovertown to the late Berton ansd Marie Pletcher Fye. Cider was a member of the VFW post 1058 and served his country in the US Navy,aboard  the SS Toledo Assocociation. He was a member of the Philo High School basketball team what went to the State Tourament and was the last surviving member of the team. Cider was a avid Nascar Fan and a Lutheran by faith.
He is survived by his wife Janice Gray Fye whom he married Aug 19,1949 a marraiage of 65 years. His son Michael Fye of Dublin,  and a daughter Beverly (Steve) Dunn of Zanesville. A sister Melodie Munyan of Zanesville. Three Grandchildren Joey Dunn of Columbus, Derek Dunn of Zanesvile, and Natalie Dunn ofColumbus. One special Great Granddaughter, Ava Jo Dunn of Zanersville.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter Connie Jo Fye  Rothe who passed away July 21, 1988 and a sister Ynonne Newland. Friends may call 4 to 7 Friday (July 24,2015)  at the Farus Funeral Home in Duncan Falls, with calling hours from 9 to10 and the  funeral will be  10 am Saturday with Rev Howard Thompson and Rev Tim Patton officiating and he will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.
